    http://breakingnews.ie/ireland/?jp=CWSNSNOJMHEY

    A Garda and a fireman have been killed in County Limerick this morning.

    They were attending the scene of a road accident near Foynes, when they were struck by a car.

    Emergency services were called to the scene of a single car collision at Morgan South near Askeaton shortly before 5.00 am.

    At 5.15am a car crashed into the emergency vehicle.

    A member of An Garda Síochána and a Firefighter both died at the scene.

    It is understood the garda was in his 50s and based at Newcastle West, while his colleague a fireman was based at Foynes.
    RIP

      Tragic, and needless. R.I.P Brian.

      Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

        Rip, Goes to show the the risk emergency service personnel put themselves in for others
        Theirs not to make reply,
        Theirs not to reason why,
        Theirs but to do and die:
        Into the valley of Death
        Rode the six hundred.

                RIP, a needless waste of the lives of those who dedicate theirs to protect us. All my sympathies to the families of those involved.

                  RIP and thanks for what you do on our behalf
                  Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
                  Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
                  The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
                  The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
                  The best lack all conviction, while the worst
                  Are full of passionate intensity.

                            It was the year of fire...the year of destruction...the year we took back what was ours.
                            It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
                            It was a new age...It was the end of history.
                            It was the year everything changed.
