  • 'KE' plates on Mowags??

Was flicking through An Cosantoir today and noticed a Mowag with the reg 07-KE-5156??

Since when did DF vehicles stop using 'D' plates?
First time I have seen any state vehicle without a Dublin reg plate?!

Just to throw a spanner in the works...The GMC TK31403 carmichael fire engine based at the curragh camp carried the Reg. 95 KE 4185 and its operated by the army. I also think the unimog based fire tender at finner had a non Dublin reg plate but at the moment unable to confirm this.

      Total anomalies.

Any chance they were bought by the government second-hand, and just retained their original plates?

Yeah just as I thought. Just the two examples I could find.

Usually when somebody says like some thing like that I use it as a challenge to find the exception..lol not being offensive but sweeping statments usually have anomalies.

Have fun trying to work it out.

Just to help may I point out that there are a couple of new staff cars in Dublin.

They are sporting 07 D plates.

Maybe with the re-org each unit gets to reg its own vehicles now.

Vehicles are not unit specific under the re org...notice lack of unit decals on vehicles.
