    Death of Pte Alan Boyce

    It is with regret that I announce the sad and untimely passing of Pte Alan Boyce, B Coy, 12th Bn. Alan died accidentally in Kilkenny yesterday, aged 21. He joined the DF last November.

    His brother Tommy, also B Coy, 12th Bn, was killed in 2000 in a RTA.

    Alan and Tommy's father and brother are both serving soldiers in Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick. His late Grandfather also served.

                        God, that is a tragedy to lose two sons in a family in a relatively short time.

                            P.S:Whilst here i would like to extend my condolences to his family including his older brother jason who is a colleauge of mine.My heart goes out to you as someone who knows what it like to lose a brother.
