  • Damn Ishihara test - Please help! NSR

    Hi everybody,

Im looking to find out whether you can take the ishihara test for the naval reserve wearing specs/contact lenses.

I think I may have slight difficulty with colours that a special pair of specs can solve.

Otherwise vision 100% and fitness etc fine.

Also I need to know for sure if I am permitted to take the "Lantern" test as a substitute.

Any help appreciated. Or if you have a sneeky way for me to pass PM me!!!!!!!!

    Many thanks in advance,

    Michael

Ishihara(japanise for "load of bollox") test is the standard test. (Even though it has been largely discredited in professional circles). Surely there is a more accurate way of testing than something devised in 1917?
Search for the thread on "colourblindness". It makes no sense, as I'm sure you know.
The Lantern test is not offerred, usually. You must take the test without corrective lenses.
The Dept of Transport have a standard for colour vision, and this is the one the Naval Service use.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
