Is Air Corps Management in their own right, responsible for the state of the present day Air Corps? The question excludes Government actions and inactions.
No! Morale in the Air Corps must be shot to hell because of how they have been treated by Govt over the years. At the same time, it is when there is a threat to morale that good leadership minimises the effect. The very fact that an act of mutiny or malingering took place in full public view without any formal disciplinary action shows that the Air Corps command structure is either ineffective or afraid. Unless this action is met head on by disciplinary action then the Air Corps can forget about being taken seriously as a military body in the future and I fear the same can be said ultimately for the Defence Forces as a whole.
