        Interesting

        However you have a propensity to fib

        So any of you BA lads care to verify
        Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
        Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
        The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
        The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
        The best lack all conviction, while the worst
        Are full of passionate intensity.

                      I thought the Browning was still the GS pistol for the BA with the Sigs being UOR kit specific to Herrick?
                      "Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

                        we no longer have Brownings in our Armoury anymore apod - we got SIG's last year although we haven't touched them yet in our unit to be honest.

                        i would say there are still a lot of Brownings in a lot of other armouries though.

                        until we get rid of the old and have only the new it's a mixed bag.

                        being the 'Home of the British Army' we seem to get a lot of kit quicker than most here in Aldershot.

                          That's just in case the Paras ever try to come back, to fight them off!
                          'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
                          'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
                          Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
                          He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

                            I know all that hardware is pretty advanced but i wouldn't exactly call the graphics quality itself as "xbox on steroids"

                            When Battlefield 3 comes out they can just play that instead.

                            Do Pte's get issued a sidearm in the BA when on ops as well? Or is it just issued to NCO's and officers like over here?

                              Riflemen / Rangers / Privates all get side-arms as required, i.e. a Minimi / GPMG gunner are often issued a side-arm.

                              their issue is generally not rank dependant, Keef will be able to tell you current policy in Aghan.
