    Bolted, usually.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

The turrets sit in or on the turret ring but how are they secured so that they don't fall off if it rolls upside down? Any pics anyone?

        regards

There is a basket bolted to the turret that carries the gun crew, radios and ammo. Where the gun points they point. The pivot point of this basket is bolted to the floor of the AFV usually. However the turret is also bolted to the ring.

photos....... I'll get back to ye

the hull of the car has a turret ring(a large gear cog) the turret fits into this
the gear box to rotate the turret 360 is attached to the turret
the turret gear box then meshes with the hulls turret ring
            this is the basics
hope it helps paint a picture

Probably an older vehicle than what you had in mind, but have a look anyway. (Rolls Royce armoured car)
