L.E. Mitchell? Anyone able to throw any light on this crest?

Not with the Prefix L.E. (Long Eireanneach or Irish SHIP)
I was hoping someone might recognise the crest.
Fort Mitchell was never a naval base, as such. Haulbowline was always the Naval base. Spike Island was Fort Mitchell, Spike Island. The Naval Service used it as a training centre.
Possible someone in the Museum saw the crest and presumed it was a ship, rather than a fort.
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
