          Peugeot P4. Roads in UNFIL AO were a nightmare to drive on, lots of potholes and some were just dirt tracks. P4 had a great suspension, in comparison to Land Rovers and CJ 6s that they replaced.

              An RAF bird in Kabul.
              Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
              Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
              The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
              The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
              The best lack all conviction, while the worst
              Are full of passionate intensity.

                  mine was the Land Rover APV:

                  there weren't many other V8's on the roads in Derry when we patrolled in these and the engine noise was beautiful.

                  looked pretty cool and took lots of abuse too.

                    RGJ...what ever became of the thing the Army replaced those with?

                    'TAVERN' it was called. Are they still in use?

                              as did their passengers...
                              'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
                              'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
                              Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
                              He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.
