"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Who has annoyed the BSM that much, then?'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

I'm sure the HSE would step up to the mark but maybe there are some doctors or nurses who are or Could be members of the reserve and would be interested in contributing. Some excellent people too in the Medical Corps who may be willing to help. Has anyone asked.....?
It's tiring hearing our piecemeal response being trumpeted as a significant contribution particularly when the personnel are going to be based in the embassy!
The fight against the disease is not in the embassy!

the Merlins on RFA Argus are having a big impact on the logs capability in SL - a pair of 139's would contribute significantly, they'd be very good at moving people about and letting the Merlins get on with the heavy lift.
comms people?
SL has a, err... basic comms infrastructure - it could probably do with a satelite based voice and data system to connect the distant jungle communities into the more developed areas where the doctors are.
medical people?
iirc SL has around one doctor to every 100,000 people. the equivilant of Ireland having 50 doctors... can you spare half a dozen?

Never give up!!"

Would that not be a better spend of our overseas aid budget?
