The Irish Naval Service vessel LÉ Órla has begun a search for a man reported missing overboard from an Irish registered vessel off the County Cork coast.
The alarm was raised at around 7.15 this morning when the man was reported to have falled overboard about 60 miles south of Galley Head.
The Shannon-based marine helicopter and other shipping vessels in the area have joined the search.
The naval ship is acting as the on-scene co-ordinator for the search.
