Today around 1am I saw a formation of 1CN235 ,1XBK200 and 2 SF260( i think they were SF260 ,low wing single engine jobs I was too far away to see properly) flying to the east of weston. They did a couple of passes 2 or 3. at appox 1000 feet
Any ideas on what was going on???
not a clue but i wouldnt be too surprised with what you see near weston - its inside military training airspace plus at 1am how could you tell you saw what a formation of 1CN235 ,1XBK200 and 2 SF260.
yeah, strange things happening indeed. I saw a Herc (positive it wasn't a CASA) over Raheny at about 6.30pm yesterday. Low vis grey and I couldn't make out the markings.
A friend of mine swears he say the Air Corp escort a large transport. He's far from an expert on aircraft but he said it was huge!!....... Russia possibly
Well thats a nice thing to notice that form. flying is still in use by our lads instead of low level training at 20mph screaming through the country at 500ft in a marchetti he he:D :-patriot:
Without breaking any OSA does anybody know who owned the transports (i.e. definite spotting of a large four prop transport C130 I think, I was in a car and it was heading away from me. And also a large jet transport being escorted by the Corp with by the sounds of it could be a Antilov)
Could the corp be taking early delivery of the PC-9's
There is a widely operated civilian C-130 version could just have been that or a bog standard training visit by some country who laughs at our airforce but loves our VIP reception centre.

The Breman flight is the commemeration of the First East to West Flight that was flown by an Irish Air Corps Pilot a lot of years ago, they are recreating the flight on Saturday.
The transport was the CASA!, you know the big blue things that are mostly over the oceans.
