    Are the ceromonial swords that Naval Officers carry the same as our land lubber Officers carry?
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

      No, they look similar, but are different. Consult TM628 - The Manual of the Sword for the specs of each.

        The naval one is 2" shorter, apparently the Army need the extra length when on horseback

          We need some defence against the pikemen!
          It is only by contemplation of the incompetent that we can appreciate the difficulties and accomplishments of the competent.

                Go with the manual.
                The worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them: that's the essence of inhumanity.

                  There are small differences in the hilt as well.

                        No. They are also used to butter toast and steer the ship.

                        What do you think?

                          Hahaha! That would be so unnecessary!

                            The belt is entirely hidden and hooked through a slit in the tunic at about 3" above the waist belt. They are made by Wilkinson sword and yes they are ornamental but the point is still quite sharp and would be extremly dangerous if someone had a mind to inflict injury.
