Just after reading a post that balier put up and he mentioned the Maroon Platoon.
Any members of that platoon on the board? There must be a few people that rember us from that year in the glen all thoese pots and cpls on the standards course?
My hair hasn't been as short since! Still have the t shirt!
I remember a set of courses in 1999 where the Stds wore black T shirts, the Depot staff wore Blue, but I cannot remember what the pots wore (didn't register on my radar:D ). This is the Pots that Eldavido was on, are we talking about the same course?
Standard course-- black
Pots course -- green
Staff -- Blue
and out on their own
Battle Tactices -- Maroon.
We didn't get a say in the t shirt colour.
Never found out who put the sign on our billet door "the maroon plt"
but we keep the name, shaved our heads, and went mad.
Ah yes The Glen Summer 2000 Best Camp I was ever on (POTS) Bucky, Jaws, Zanbra, keeping us on our toes. Eldavido was in the Maroon Plt. Don't know if many more members were on it. Was a great Camp with The Stds Pots and Battle Tactics, Plus the 11 Cav for some of it (Rememeber the 2 recruits with Long Hair??) Great Weather, Great last Night (Plastic Jesuuuuss!!!) and of course the Drying room Incident!! 2 weeks I will never forget. (Where I broke my foot still hurts sometimes)
Who was the girl who said to Peter Bookey that she knew everything about stripping the FN ? Still makes me laugh thinking about it. It took her hours to get it back together again.
Oh I forget she didn't pass anyway, or the guy who was told not to strip the firing pin out of the FN, and did and lost it, all of us searching for it with torches (even the NCO's)
