Keep wondering. Better there than cleaning the weapons in the rain on that near 45 degree slope outside. Wouldn't you say? You're not obviously familiar with the place.

I've had a very good set of Protac webbing the last three years, and it hasn't fallen apart. It's seen a lot of service and hard wear and tear and has never failed me.

I never use my set of the issued stuff these days. I have had one or two PLCE pouches fall to bits on me through no fault of my own.

As for cleaning weapons in the billets, if you knew that paricular camp well you'd know that there's no where else to do it, apart from outside. And as that photo was obviously was taken at night, cleaning outside would not be possible / advisable.

I remember back in the last century we were taught that the parts of the weapon are laid out in order so you can find them easily when cleaning them at night.

I saw a truck in a photo, what was wrong with the back of that?

I first fired the MAG (Ground) in 2001(I was infantry back then). Artillery have been using it for years before, so much so that when it came to cleaning, they were volunteered to show us how its done.

It strikes me that the East are behind the south in many regards, but think they are the first to be doing things(exercises with the PDF, training on the MAG etc)
