As I said she had no guarantee of making it. However I have yet to see a headline "Reservist and proud member of Defence Forces elected as Member of European Parliament" . RTE and several other news organizations had her queued up for interviews with her at the RDF 90th anniversary in Collins a few weeks back, so they know exactly who and what she is.
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

I wasn’t there and don’t know the woman but the media were only interested in people with interesting other stories afaik.

Not sure if it was RDF, DF, DoD, FG who selected her for interview but does it matter?

Diversity is good in an organisation and this was an excellent recruiting tool (as a former Rose of Tralee who represented Ireland in Irish communities worldwide, a female and a member of the LBGT community) she appeals to a wide demographic.

As far as I saw she didn’t mention work or potential work at all - and rightly so on the potential work side

    Fair play to her

Yes of course. We are all interesting and diverse people ! . However my point is that none of the media who know damn well she is a reservist but are not reporting her as such

Not AR but related to recruitment

    https://mobile.twitter.com/naval_ser...902838274?s=19

RDFRA reports he applied in the 1-28 April 2019 window and was sworn in today

Time from closing date to attestation (fitness test, interview, medical and security clearance) - 44 days

BZ to the staff at LUNSR.

Great to see some movement on the recruitment front. The recruitment was performed very efficiently with good assistance from the PDF from my vantage point.

Recruits were kept at arms length last year so great to see a positive change this year. A chink of light.

I'm assuming they are from the last recruitment campaign. We are still waiting on fitness tests at the end of the month.

Planning moving the recruits through the interview, medical and fitness requirments as quickly as possible. The turn around on the Garda vetting is a lot shorter now too. The time to get potential recruits through the process is more a function of the will of the organisation to get things done quickly.

A lot of the processing time has improved.

A smaller panel of candidates helps too of course.

If you only have to admin 30 applicants vs 300

Meh the current panel has exceeded all number expectations so its going to be very interesting to get them into the training regime

What are the numbers for AR overall and I agree the NSR would have lower numbers when compared to a Brigade, so would be easier to manage and get through

You would have 10 times the number of people to run and administer your recruits.

But the more reserve friendly, quicker turn around, responsive and co-ordinated approach you have to Candidate admin and processing that you have the more attestations you’ll have .... and if carried on professionally in that manner the more new 2*’s (and equivalents)

Auldsod, I'm new to the site, held off for a few years, but monitored it since reorg. Earlier this year RDFRA briefed the dail O.C. on defence that they could do it in 9 weeks on a voluntary capacity and NSR could do it in 8 weeks. Our unit is a bit off that! You said recruits were kept at arms lenght, What did your unit do to change that this year, can you explain it here?

I heard DFTC is almost ready to start attesting and that it's mostly due to hard work of AR staff anyone have info on how they have done it. PM me. I can't figure out how NSR and one AR Unit have managed to do it so quickly.
