Same last week when I replied to your generalised response to the LAF in the South. You know nothing except what you read and what you're told here. get a grip.

    Just goes to show you that people need to be more security aware on social media. I saw this mentioned in a FB post several days ago....
    "Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

    Wait for it, multiple pics of Field Commander Veradker in this seasons fashion musthave, the mustard cargo pant from dsquared2, blue Hilfiger button down, blue UN flakker and de riguere Ray ban Aviators.While Sub Commandante Kehoe rocks a pair of shlacks from some no-name 'minz fashinz' shop in wexford and red "neck like jockeys bollix' supplied by himself.

    And a Euro for the first journo to mention action man with eagle eyes (my moneys on Miriam lord if she hasnt already gone home for Chrismas after all the freebie Port and mince pies shes been on these last weeks).

    The media seem to have forgotten that the Taoiseach is also minister for Defence.

    so has the Taoiseach
    The people of England have been led in Mesopotamia into a trap from which it will be hard to escape with dignity and honour. They have been tricked into it by a steady withholding of information. The Baghdad communiqués are belated, insincere, incomplete.....It is a disgrace to our imperial record, and may soon be too inflamed for any ordinary cure.We are to-day not far from a disaster.

    Excellent 1 hour documentary in the Al Jazeera World segment about Living on the Blue Line in Lebanon. Not sure if it's repeated tomorrow but worth checking out.

    The original story from about 30 years ago was that they'd set about learning Irish.

    I wonder if the "former middle-ranking officer who also served with the UN in Lebanon" was the one I am thinking of who has become a security expert based on shag all military service and 1 trip overseas. I suppose he needed a new career after he ran out of his old one after creative research

    Young Irish Jews also go and do their military service in Israeli. so a certain level of Irish speaker not that hard to recruit.
    I sincerely hope Irish Officers were not that silly to think they could get away with speaking Irish to fool Jews in the Leb, Congo was a different matter

    It was a cock story then and it’s still a story that’s full of shite now,

    I’ve a few Leb trips and we never had the need to use Irish over the radio. If we needed to send classified information we had slidex and griddle.
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    +1. 3 Trips and the only Irish I ever heard was the Tannoy in Shamrock and the orders on parades.
    "Let us be clear about three facts:First of all.All battles and all wars are won in the end by the Infantryman.Secondly the Infantryman bears the brunt of the fighting,his casualties are heavier and he suffers greater extremes of fatigue and discomfort than the other arms.Thirdly,the art of the Infantryman is less stereotyped and harder to acquire than that of any other arm".
