All the white makes me think of star wars for some reason.........

        Impressive sight none the less!
        But there's no danger
        It's a professional career
        Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.

Great pictures. (Couldn't help thinking of what would happen if the ship struck a rock en-route!)
'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
            Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

Plenty more of the above can be found on the Naval Service Photo section page on facebook.

First overseas trips for a few vehicles, from what I can see, including the Cav Mowags, LTAVs, EOD truck and "New" Beast.

Very impressive! It's a far cry from two Sisus per Inf Coy and "wog wagons"!!

It's fantastic to see that the DF has moved on so much wrt overseas in what is barely a decade since the last involvement in UNIFIL 1.

It looks like the farce of overseas units having inferior kit to domestic units because it's not "UN authorised" is dead and buried. After UNIFIL 1, a much maligned COS (D COS SP at the time) was put under huge pressure in the run up to Liberia to soften his stance on the equipment list in the MOU with the DPKO. He held his ground then and that seems to be the norm now.

Great to see it, a positive vibe to compensate being back to work after the bank holiday weekend!

Very interesting it that it seems to be all Nissans as opposed to Pajeros.

Kill the Nissans off with some hardgoing overseas as opposed to wreck the nice new shiney Pajeros.

I like that thinking, if indeed that is the train of thought.

                      Left hand drives.Simples.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Great pics, thanks for sharing - proportionally, that's a hell of a force for the DF to deploy

Best wishes to everyone going out there
