            I heard that one of the lads from the Orphanage whose parents were killed in Grapes

            is studying medicine in Beiruit- fair play to him and well done to the lads out there at the

            moment carrying on the tradition of supporting the Orphanage.
            Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
            Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
            The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
            The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
            The best lack all conviction, while the worst
            Are full of passionate intensity.

              HH,

              Other post by Victor this am with piece by Kathy Sheridan from the Irish Times tells of a young Lebanese woman - Fatima Al Zin-a resident of the nge when the Commander in Chief visisted 14 years ago who was there to greet her yesterday as a university graduate.

              Those of you who have served there should all be proud of yourselves- we certainly are- this is real soldiering with a difference.

                    'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
                    'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
                    Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
                    He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

                    • Great pictures!! Great turnout!
                      A very historic occasion!! Could be a long time before we have a Commander in Chief of the calibre of the previous two!!

                        "No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

                          It depends on when his promotion to Sgt, or was it Sgt Major, is effective from?

                            Sergeant is what I heard - he was lifted at the age of 18, poor bugger, and has been
                            in captivity for 5 odd years, he is 23 now...
                            "Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

                            • From the photos there seems to be a lot of "guarda Onoras" etc and all that parade ground spit and polish stuff , bull ongoing in the Leb mission at least with the Irish anyway , dont wish it but I am sure a few guys would prefer if there was "something else" to occupy their time..
