On Sunday an Air Corps AW139 transported nine Mountain Rescue personnel and their equipment to Galway in the search for a missing walker in the Twelve Bens mountains in Connemara. The walker had injured his ankle and became lost on Saturday. Galway Mountain Rescue Team requested other mountain rescue teams from all over Ireland to help in the search.

Was it mountain rescue as such or air ambo /EASfor a rescued mountain mishap victim. I had understood the CG are first in line for MR gigs.

It was a dedicated mountain rescue heli on duty at Croagh Patrick for Reek Sunday, not the EAS heli.

The 139's have had a fairly busy summer haven't they, wonder how the serviceability is holding up?

Reek Sunday. A day dreaded by everyone in the mountain rescue community. Large crowds of people with no hillwalking experience take it upon themself to climb a mountain barefoot, with inevitable results.
Tragically and ironically, the volume of people using the reek in this way have contributed greatly to serious erosion, making the paths more dangerous for all.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

I saw pics that said EAS 112 was there.

                              At least 1 EC135, 1 CASA and 5 PC9s in Bray today
