  • Considering a Hennessey Hammock

Has anyone any experience of them in the field ? Especially Irish/UK conditions.
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

I've used a hammock overseas, not sure I'd see an opportunity to use one in the field in the RDF to be perfectly honest. But then, if you're in the HQ and billeted in an 18x24 tent, you could suspend one from the frame, that's how I slept for about 2 months. Although there's probably a DF H&S instruction that says you're not allowed to do that.

Would be great for camping though.

i've used hammocks (standard British Army issue type with bars at each end) extensively in Kenya - the weather there wasn't exactly Irish but it did rain as much.

they were great bits of kit, firm and stable providing a great nights sleep all night long (you don't stag on in the jungle) and popular with the troops.

a bit cumbersome initially with the poles but great once they are up and covered by an issued poncho.
