Well... you dont want to go bringing up the WRONG body now do you!"He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Cant leave gangway unattended plus camera cant monitor ships mooring lines.
The spec includes. PTZ which means the cameras can pan tilt and zoom making them functionable and depending on the location aboard ship could be ideal for monitoring such things although the would have to be very high up to get over all the clutter around superstructure,
[QUOTE]Why would you need facial recognition on a ROV[/QUOTE
We could always colour code the post if you have problem following!Covid 19 is not over ....it's still very real..Hand Hygiene, Social Distancing and Masks.. keep safe

Mark my words, it will never replace the QM, it may be an aid to him or her, but will not replace him or her.

The old dockyard crane, now non functioning is up for grabs.
3.1 The successful tenderer will be required to arrange the removal of the crane from Haulbowline within an acceptable period (see 2.13 – tenderers must outline their proposals for the removal of the crane etc. from Haulbowline). The emphasis is on the removal of the crane as early as possible, in any event within 90 days after the signing of the sales agreement.
3.2 The Department of Defence / Defence Forces will not provide any labour or materials necessary in connection with the removal of the crane.
3.3 As already mentioned, the crane will be sold “as seen” and the Department of Defence cannot and will not accept any responsibility as to it’s quality, condition or certification. The crane shall be taken with all faults and errors or mis-statements of description, measurement, weight or otherwise, and without question on the part of the successful tenderer. No compensation or allowance will be made on account of any such faults, mis-statements or errors although the same may be of considerable nature.
3.4 The successful tenderer will be required, as part of the sales contract, to indemnify the Minister against any liability arising from the subsequent use of the crane.
3.5 The onus is clearly on tenderers to satisfy themselves as to what is offered for sale before submitting a tender. As already mentioned tenderers should inspect the crane prior to submitting a tender and should satisfy themselves of the maintenance status etc of the crane.
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

SharpEye™ for Irish Navy
October 2, 2013 - Kelvin Hughes is delighted to announce that the Irish Naval Service has selected the SharpEye™ radar and the MantaDigital™ display for the incremental upgrade of its fleet.
Ships of the Irish Naval Service operate in some of the harshest maritime conditions, including the North Atlantic, and the decision in favour of SharpEye™ was strongly influenced by the enhanced situational awareness that the radar system can provide, particularly in adverse conditions and high sea states. Under the terms of the contract, the upgrades will take place over a three year period as vessels become available for or require a refit.
Available in both I and E/F band frequencies, the SharpEye™ radar system represents a radical and innovative departure from current marine navigation radar technology in that it has no magnetron and uses a coherent transmission, making it capable of separating small targets from clutter due to their differing radial velocity components. The MantaDigital™ workstation is a multi-function display platform, which can host radar, ECDIS and conning functionality on a wide-screen display surface.
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
