Unfortunately, over the years, the 4th Bn became contaminated with people from outside the county. Mostly troublemakers.
On a serious note, many former 4th Bn members lived in county towns such as Kanturk, Mallow and Charleville. A move to Limerick is not a huge step. Indeed a former BSM of the 12th was commuting from Mallow.
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

B coy is staying in Cork. For the moment."Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Reorg and promotions being done simultaneously. No promotions to CQ until Cadre staff is sorted out by the VFM implementation plan."Let us be clear about three facts.
