" run twice-daily patrols out across our economic zone in the Atlantic and the Celtic sea."

"one of around 300 maritime patrols each year."

A well timed article. But, which is it ?

              Both.
              2 aircraft.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

I know there are 2 Casa`s. Is it 300 patrols per aircraft or 300 patrols in total each year ?

Time to start reporting them in terms of best or busiest year EVER for Maritime or Squadron ops if you know what I mean.

An Air Corps Casa was sent today to find and make contact with a yacht 483km off the west coast.

A sailor who has navigated the Northwest Passage, fended off polar bears and survived Hurricane Gonzalo has said he is looking forward to a pint and a rest after entering Irish waters.

Interesting looking schnoz - is that a MAD on the side of the port fuselage?

Looks like it has provision for missile warning too.

Also worth bearing in mind that the Portugese operate P3C's in addition to the 295's.

I'd heard that it was Synthetic Aperture Radar.
