  • Port of Cork website says Emer s due to depart Haulbowline at 1800 on 2nd November. No destination. Of course this may just be a berth shift.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

          • Seems she was supposed to shift to Cobh, and then the Drydock. Weather down here has put paid to those plans.

                • Do the funds for the sale go back into the DF budget or are they used against the purchase of the new vessels or just thrown into the general government pot?

Why does she need to the dockyard.

She is higher in the water, must have offloaded some kit from here.

Cheque was probably made payable to the DoD.

New owner wants to do some conversion work, no doubt a bottom survey would also be in order, given that the ship was sold as seen. Guns are gone, presume all other naval specific stores went too, along with anything in the coldrooms and pantry. Given she is under tow, her tanks are probably all empty too.

                      • Well the Nigerian Patrol vessel M.V Emer, left cork dockyard earlier today, finally. Hopefully it's new life will be as successful as it's old one.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
