I happened to see an Army 141 D Ford Ranger today, standard green colour....and what really caught my eye was the "truck of the year" badge on the rear. It stuck out like a sore thumb against the dark green paint. I thought the DF specified that such tat, including anything that identified the supplier, be removed from vehicles prior to acceptance.

I happened, one time, to see a new type being accepted by the Transport Officer and the transport lads. They were all over it, poking in and out, etc. The TO walked around to the back, saw the mudflaps with the garage name on them and saw the garage sticker in the rear window and came to an immediate halt. "Flight!" , sez he, "Get them off, now!", pointing at the offending articles. The Flight Sgt asks why...."The DF doesn't do advertising!" and he refused to accept the vehicle until the items were gone and plain mudflaps fitted.

While the 600 litre minimum boot space (excluding radio racking system space) is a welcome design requirement, it rules out one of the largest 4x4, Toyota Land cruiser Prado.
I do hope the DF consider boot options like these:
Fourby Fitouts has developed a unique, modular storage system for your Toyota Prado 150 that allows you to keep your seats in.
The largest boot space in descending order:
1. Landover Discovery 1230dm3
2. Audi Q7890dm3
3. Mitsubishi Pajero 860dm3
4. Volkswagen Taureg 810dm3
So Mitsubishi Pajero it will be based on costLast edited by TangoSierra; 14 January 2019, 19:58.

G-wagan does not meet minimum 600litre bootspace required. The boot space is actually quite small in them compared to most 4x4.
Pinzgauer does not meet specification requirements as well as it's production being in doubt.
