  • 100th anniversary of the R22eR

    The Royal 22e Régiment was officially formed on 21 October 1914.

    The name "Vandoos" comes from the english pronounciation of the word "vingt-deux" (22 in french).

    The R22eR is still going strong with 3 regular force Battalions and 2 reserve Battalions.
    "On the plains of hesitation, bleach the bones of countless millions, who on the very dawn of victory, laid down to rest, and in resting died.

    Never give up!!"

      There are commemorations throughout the year; a guard from the Regiment was at Buckingham Palace this summer, there are a number of towns and cities dedicating parks and roads to the Regiment, but the big one is this Saturday, with the 100th anniversary ball in Québec City. I will not be able to attend, as I have the watch at the NORAD command center...

      Total NCOs and Soldiers: 1178
