    They'll never let him in a bank in that!
    'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
    'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
    Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
    He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

      Knew a few pilots who would have benefited from having their features obscured as well...

        That's too cool a bit of kit to be issued to the bluffwaffe......

        They should be made wear something more demeaning like a Mayo GAA helmet
        To close with and kill the enemy in all weather conditions, night and day and over any terrain

          The Don has gone far too Call of Duty these days. Next guy i see with a folded up boonie hat, I'll slap him......back in the day, anyone who came near a helicopter with a scarf would have got a foot up the arse. Buy a toque or a polo neck, ye eejit, if you're cold. Too many people concentrating on being fashion victims instead of professionals. rant mode switched to normal.

            Love to know where they got the new MOLLE type vests,how much they cost, and how come they are rated for use when the near identical Lowe alpine one they bought first wasn't??
            "Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

              Ahh now APOD they had to use up their budget on gucci kit so it doesn't get spent on stuff for bods overseas where it would get dirty.

                Cos the Lowe was made from polyester and nylon and was not approved for flight equipment by anyone and the new vest is. Simples.

                  I'm sure that's a special FR shemagh that just happens to complement the sleeve tats.

                      Is there a PREDATOR type dental makeover that goes with that?

                        Yeah, the poor bugger isn't let out without the helmet in case he scares the locals on the islands. Which says a lot. The vests are Dutch I believe. Or same as the Dutch ones. Don't know. Couldn't care less as long as they got one after the debacle that was the ACJ version of the Lowe.

                            Begs the question.Was anyone in the AC with knowledge of flight safety rules regarding crew equipment RE FR consulted before the Lowe vests were ordered??

                            (BTW Loving the new vests.Are those pockets for ballistic plates built in??)
