  • Well he has stated on dail record that a member of the DF has never approached him to complain about the conditions. All that could change.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Would that depend on the level engagement with Sophia's command before now, whether it's something that's been planned/discussed, or is it only going to be now that the NS engages and gets tasked? I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

Would we be extending our operations to that point or would we still end at around the usual timeframe?

              • Extension beyond that is subject to UN mandate renewal

Sorry I didn't mean the timeframe of Sophia, what I meant was are we looking at keeping a hull rotated to the Med into December now?

                      • I look forward to the inevitability of Lisa Chambers becoming minister for defence. She is possibly the most impressive performer in that party who led us into the last recession.

As for Mr O Snodaigh.... His party workers collected information on the movements of Dail officials, another was responsible for a murder in 2005. His wife threatened gardai that they would be in trouble, after they arrested her sister for a Public order offence. And of course there is the unexplained €50000 worth of printer ink used in one year. His opinions mean nothing to me. Indeed the opinions of SF IRA on any defence matter means nothing to me.

+1. SF are ambulance chasing, populist manipulators who appeal to the lowest common denominator and will do or say anything to get into power and then do the same to keep it.
Murdering, thieving scum.Elected by a disenfranchised few who are too myopic to see past their own issues and look at the past(and sometimes present) of their so called "working class hero's".
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."
