I wonder what commonality there is between our mowags and those LAVs
Everyone who's ever loved you was wrong.

Heard a throw away remark about Australian stuff before. That it is badly screwed together due to the surfs up culture.

Lavs and M111s are due to be replaced with something like Boxer, so they are worn out.

You could say the same about irish owned stuff. Badly maintained because the techies are either drunk or hungover.
M113s were ancient. They were upgraded from the A1 versions that were introduced in the mid 1960s.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Not that worn out. All the ASLAV's need is a depot level refit and refresh and will be good to go for another defence force. The OZ actually maintain their equipment to a high standard and always have the vendors staff imbedded as part of their support contracts.

The RAAF will have vastly superior data collection abilities compared with other military forces in Asia with the purchase of seven Triton drones – giving Australia the edge in electromagnetic-sphere warfare.

Interesting read from the SMH. Essentially explaining RAAF Project Jericho and the massive investment in EW/ISR. OZ military equipment not on the sales catalogue.

The Republic of Fiji Military Force has received three of the ten Bush Master Protected Mobility Vehicles that was purchased by the Fijian Government from Australia. […]

Around AUD $1.5 million for ten which is basically for the support contract in the years ahead.
