The history of the Irish Defence Forces

I'm doing a project / presentation on the "History of the Irish Defence Forces". Looking for some links and info other than the DF official site and Wikipedia. Unfortunately I won't have access to an Irish library or the Curragh museum so any electronic inspiration would be most welcome!

"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Duggans book is the reference work - it is very good but only covers up to a certain time mid 80's I think . What is your audience and what is your spin on it - why should I go to your talk - might help us recommend a few works.

Cheers for the links chaps. The book will have to wait unfortunately, looks quite comprehensive.

If you are spinning it for the RSA (which I suspect you are) then why not talk highlight the differences between the artillery corp and the royal artillery - even about the use of 81mm and 120mm mortars within the artillery corps. At the very least, it will get some backs up!

This one was published in 1997, but covers a lot of ground...

He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.
