THe 2005 reorg was a new force not a Reorg, per se.

Plus 13 years later the Defence Acts still refers to FCA and ASM

I think RDFRA was formally set up in 1991/92. The legal basis for representative organisations was included in the Defence Amendment Act 1990. There may have been an illicit meeting in 1988/89.

Also I think we had 77 sets for a few more years after 1994.

I trained on 77 set around 1999, still used them (and field telephones) until at least 2001

Its a very loose time line as a lot of the issues are unit specific.

By 1991 Red epaulattes had gone from my former unit
                    , FNs 1990,
did my last cash escort in 1997... Electronic pay from about 1998/99
Tax PRSI etc 2008... my last camp.. I came out with less than a Trooper.
2006 I was the last person promoted to Sergeant in 31 Cav.....ever!
                    Singcars 2001
1992 meeting of RDFRA in the back of a pub in Clonmel
Covid 19 is not over ....it's still very real..Hand Hygiene, Social Distancing and Masks.. keep safe

PRSI was far earlier than that, they brought it in to fund the occupational injuries benefit I think

I cannnot but help think that red epaulettes were later than 1991

We did duties with the FN in 87 and 88 but the actual withdrawal of the SMLEs as the standard rifle for a rifleman/trooper was later
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

RDFRA was much earlier than 1992, B20s timeline seems about right, I seem to remember signing the first forms in 1989/1990

When were women stared to be recruited into Combat units rather than CS/CSSC ... might have been 1993 or 1994 ?

My infantry unit had its first two female recruits in 1994 and did first annual training in 1995. Also I did a goh with fn in 1990 and green epaulettes. I had been issued tunic with Marion ones in 1988.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

                            Integration was 2007 and 2008.
Sincgars was only purchased in 1996.We were still using 77 set in the Leb in 97.
I joined in 91 and was issued maroon epaulette SD's.
Combat dress went on issue in 96.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.
