I think the maroon epaulettes just phased out, I don't think there was any big bang instruction, same with the FCA tab.

2005 - RDF replaces the FCA - Many units are amalgamated

RDF always existed. AR replaced FCA, NSR replaced ASM

Correct the RDF existed since at least 1954

However, see post 5, the AR and NSR legally don’t exist

                    The Defence Acts say FCA

Mid-1993 for women joining the infantry units. Also late 1992/early 1993 for introduction of the 'FCÁ' flash.

1995 for first females on infantry Pots course. Are you sure about SINCGARS from '97? I was in charge of the '77 sets the bn were using on camp the following year. And the introduction of wet gear after 1997 was a massive deal.

Last but not least, don't see an entry for the date of the withdrawal of the wooly jumper with chest pocket following the 'self-inflicted injury' incident, Trellheim.

RDFRA was in existence by '93, I think (not sure).

The '77 sets were around until 1998 at least.

I have a reasonable theory - RDFRA didn't agree to CP/HR cuts (because they weren't even invited to the talks?), therefore the membership incurred the alternative automatic pay cuts.

We still used them in 2001

In my unit we all got new tunics in time for the GOH at the end of a Pot Officer course held in ballincollig and reviewed by junior minister Dempsey. Those of us who still had maroon epaulettes for got new ones in a surprisingly painless transaction.
Singcars was still only rolling out to pdf in 1996. Rdf units were using it by 1999 though.
Pdf were training on the steyr in 1988. Our cadre were on conversion courses in 1989. It was selected in 86.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

There were at least 2 on my Pots Course in 1994, one of whom became the first female FCA officer.
