Australian Military Sales Equipment Catalogue 2017 (July-December)

Here is the latest OZ defence equipment catalogue up to December 2017 for excess defence articles and new orders.

    http://www.defence.gov.au/casg/Multi...017-9-7885.pdf

If the Irish Defence Force is opening up for a LATV competition round there are a number of new and remanufactured / reconditioned options.

If all that is going to be offered to defence CapEx in Ireland is €0.5B over the next ten years then thinking outside the buy Euro - buy New box may have to be considered.

The Hawkei and reconditioned Bushmasters are at present being evaluated by the NZ Army to replace the simply awful 10 year old Pinzgauers. The reconditioned Bushmasters are around 30% of what a similar sized protected mobility vehicle would cost.

Bushmaster is an APC/MRAP not a LTAV. In a LTAV we are looking for something smaller (like Hawkei, but is it in service yet?)

Dev believe me I do realise that the Bushmaster is on the chubby side. I am simply suggesting that they are cheap as chips and well worth a look as a mounted PMV as the Fijians are now using in Syria.

Hawkei is currently deployed in Iraqi in small numbers as part of the final pre-delivery trials before acceptance and delivery into service. There is a good chance it will see service in the NZ Army as part of the solution to replace the Pinzer.

Why are they offloading the Panther (considering its purpose to our LTAV), AFAIK not May we’re deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq..... reason?

Hawkei aren’t 2nd hand vehicles they are offloading

Panther is known for reliability (lack of), weight (excessive), cross country mobility (lack of) issues
