This may be of interest to some folks here, electronic copy of the full book by Tom Keane - Establishment of the Meteorological Service in Ireland. The Foynes Years, 1936-1945.
There is extensive detail about co-operation between the then Irish Meteorological Service and the Defence Forces in the lead up to and during "The Emergency."
It also has a small section dealing with Blacksod and D-Day.
For fellow radio/crypto nerdy types it mentions the cipher systems used to ensure the security of transmissions, SYKO: http://chris-intel-corner.blogspot.i...er-device.html
I've read various bits and pieces over the years, rumours etc about Air Corps delivering w/t reports in the full knowledge that Britain would be listening in - but this is an authoritative history and shows the extensive level of co-operation that took place, not that it was always smooth!
