    Hi All,

Does anyone know the details of getting qualified for and then getting into Legal Services?
Can one go through the army and become legally qualified (ie Barrister or Solicitor), or do they have to take a career break, go through the slog of becoming a qualified legal professional and then finish their career break and go back into the army?

I'd love to know if you could do Solicitor Traineeships through the DF LS.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light.

Afaik the army will decide you are doing law in college, you’ll then go into a private practice before being called to bar

Officers serving in DLS have got there off the back of qualifications earned at their own cost, at their own time. A basic degree in Law will NOT get you into DLS. There are a large number of officers with degrees from Kings Inn and Blackhall Place that are not serving in DLS.

I am not aware of any officer in DLS with a right to address a court, they have not done their apprenticeships.

There was talk a while back of them being released to do it but nothing has come of it yet.
