I knew a simple soldier boy.....
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.

In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
And no one spoke of him again.

You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

That's grand. I thought the RSM was after going out and buying himself a trophy just to keep him warm at night

Came across this on discovery channel website, the international sniper competition.
Not sure how the boys ranked at it but they seem like they held their own.

                Life's short, party naked :-)

Not attempting to undermine their sniping prowess but they ended up in the bottom half, 16 out of 32. So lets not be content with this standing. What other teams were competing and why did the other teams 15 teams do in terms of training, equipment , general prep to beat the Irish DF.

Id imagine it has a lot to do with our teams being new to it, takes time to get the format and know how to tackle a competition like that. For example our guys don't normally shoot .5 or from helicopters (outside of the ARW).

Something to do with the pistol shoot; maybe KMCM100 can provide more info ?
