No defence against jamming. All transmitters can be jammed.
Best defence is active offense - Directional Finding EW coupled with a "kinetic" response to a confirmed jamming source

All I would say is (imo) it largely depends on your adversary - wideband adaptive freq hopping will be a lot trickier for small groups to counter than, than say something locked to 2.4GHz.
I'm just trying to justify the costs - if they're going to use a COTS civilian spec radio, my mind would boggle - but if they're using something labelled Harris, well it would make the sums balance up a bit...
