The 80 tonne crane has been a big requirement for some time. The 22 tonner currently in the basin is good, but usually works at the limit of its capability.

Integrated Voice System for the Irish Defence Forces

The requirement is for a software solution that integrates with communications hardware from any contractor and enables voice communications between any connected devices, including phones, PCs, and two-way radios, regardless of manufacturer. The system architecture must integrate with fixed-station and deployable equipment. It must interface voice traffic from a variety of military communications devices. These voice inputs may include a variety of encryption methods. The required voice inputs include, but are not limited to, HF radio nets, VHF/UHF Line of Site (LOS) nets, High Frequency LOS and BLOS nets, UHF SATCOM nets, Voice Over IP (VoIP) and Circuit Switched Secure and Non-Secure Phones, Commercial Mobile Phones (Secure and Non-Secure), and Satellite Phones (Secure and Non-Secure).

Considering that those wonderful people in Ivory Towers couldn't even buy the same Personal Role Radio that married up with the intercom system in the APCs (deftly defeating the purpose of the bailout cable), I wouldn't hold out much hope on this one.

Well in that case, my original point stands. When the powers that be took it upon themselves to come up with a PRR, they didn't choose the one that plugs into the ROVIS in the MOWAGs.

I'd be satisfied if we had at least one armoured vehicle with a complete intercom system.

That is what the tender was for, i.e. what DOD procurement/GSA asked for
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

Presume so, just a different supplier. Which will probably mean that the newer stuff will have shade differences in the colours (a la the Seyntex stuff, then the Irish stuff that followed - the name of the supplier eludes me, PortWest, I think)

That kind of a response doesn't merit a reply - he only asked a simple question....

With decentralisation yes - DFHQ & DOD in Newbridge (when it happens).

The Curragh is only where it is being delivered to, not necessarily where it will be deployed (overseas I assume).
