  • Soldier dies in Curragh accident

    The army has just confirmed that a soldier has died in an accident at the Curragh.

    It happened when an armoured car overturned on an off road driving exercise.

    The victim's name is not being released.

    Two other soldiers injured, not seriously.

            An Irish soldier has died in an accident at the Curragh training centre in Co Kildare.

            There was one vehicle involved in the crash which occurred at 2.30pm.

            The accident happened during a training exercise on the off-road vehicle training circuit in the Defence Forces Training Centre.

            Two other people were injured and have been transferred to Naas General Hospital.

                      Heard it was a AML (that overturned as Dublinmick said) from a guy in the Curragh but no hard details...
