Facts are meaningless - you could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

Some of the restrictions that the DF, and Armys around the world put on people are studip...they are living in the past and need to keep up to date with medical developments
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

I think the DF might be the strictest military when it comes to medicals, most people i know who didn't get in here went to the BA or the US. Its a load of crap.

I got booted back a year and had to re-apply because of high LFT's, which just meant me staying off beer for a while, I asked the BA if they would have anything like that, they said "No" only if it was a severe problem.

Right just a few clarifing points on the whole Laser surgery issues there are a few different kinds:

PRK = Photorefractive keratectomy is where the shape of the eye itself is changed. This is the same as LASEK the only major differences is that in LASEK the part of the eye they scrape off they keep in a solution to keep it fresh and through it back onto the eye afterwards to speed up healing in PRK they discrad what they peel of and let the eye heal itself. PR and LASEK still have the same risk but they tend to be less severe but the healing time is longer for them. FAA guidelines state that a Civil pilot must have 6 month stable vision after his op before he can fly, dont know what the mil auth say but I would think it would be similar.
LASIK= Laser-assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. Basically the doc gives you a local and a few anathestic eye drops. He then cuts a flap in the cornea using a metal blade(its tiny and oscillates). He folds the falp back and uses the laser to abalte a few micron of tissue in the middle of the cornea.
Problems that can occur are "haloing" this is where people with big pupils have get a halo effect around the edges of the flap. This can happen at day or night but more likely to happen at night as your pupil dialates to allowing in more light. Army is not a big fan of this.
Lifes a bitch, so be her pimp!
