You pay 1.5m for what is a pretty basic wheeled APC in the Mowag Piranha. 60 million would be a good guide price for a Charlie 2.

no way is a Chally 2 60million, last time I looked the unit price was something like 5.5 to 6 million

If this is the case then we got ripped off with the Mowags....

          Oh wait...

          Never mind.

In June 1991 the British Government selected the Challenger 2 and placed an order worth £520 million for 127 Challenger 2 MBTs and 13 driver training tanks. Production began in 1993 and the first vehicles were delivered in July 1994.
          £4.1mil in 1994 prices.

            Google is your friend, children......

According to http://www.armedforces.co.uk/army/listings/l0023.html a Challenger 2 cost in the region of £4 million sterling in 1999.

The initial order was 127 MBTs and 13 Driver Training Tanks (DTTs), for £520 million, giving an average cost of £3.71 million per tank (a MBT would be more expensive than a DTT, obviously)

The second order was 259 MBTs and 9 DTTs for £800 million, a unit price of £2.98 million

A SISU costs in the region of 20% what a Mowag does.....

4 mill in 99, I'm not too far off then, for 5.5 in 2005/6

I think the Abrams is a little more expensive, the Le clerc is about the same as a C2,the Arite is cheaper and the Leopard II is cheapest, but thats mainly because they have sold alot of them, the Type-90 is not for sale and Russian ones are an iffy propostion, they don't keep up spares supply

As far as i know the merkava is only used by the isrealis. Althought it's far superior to may MBT on the market its weight has lead many forgein nations to lose interest in purchasing them due to the difficultise in deploying them.
