    there used to be a regular re supply to the leb and to cyprus as well

    do you sea dogs ever bring along a few Soldiers for inter services co operation
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

      Currently in Cork is the French Frigate "La Vallee", or to give it its full title, "Lieutenant de vaisseau Lavallée".

      Another of the D'Estienne d'Orves (A69)class, a type often seen in Cork. This is the same ship type as the Argentinian ARA Guerrico, which was hit by small arms and 84mm fire during th eBattle for South Georgia during the Falklands war of 1982.

      The type is due for retirement soon, having been in service since the early 70s. The single 100mm gun is mounted forward, immediately ahead of the large bridge. and the 375mm ASW rocket launcher is mounted on the deckhouse aft.
      France still has considerable overseas interests and the D.Estienne D'Orves class share some of the duties involved. For such distant deployments they mount an MM.38 Exocet SSM on either side of the funnel. which confers some independent offensive capability. although such a small ship is intended to be dependent upon other vessels or aircraft for protection against a serious air or surface threat.

      A Creusot-Loire 100mm dual-purpose gun, Model 1968-11 (1x1)
      B 20mm AA gun (2x1 )
      C MM.38 Exocet SAM launchers (2x1 )
      D 533mm torpedo tubes (2x2) for L3 ASW and L5 GP torpedoes
      E Bofors 375mm ASW rocket launcher, Model 1954 (1x6)

      Electronics
      1 Thomson-CSF DUBA25 hull-mounted sonar
      2 DRBN-32 navigation radar
      3 DRBC-32E fire control radar
      4 DRBV-51A search radar

      This vessel is in service since October 1980
      Crew:
      7 officers
      58 Senior Rates
      24 Junior Rates

      Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

                anyone know anything about a submarine in dublin today? Spotted it coming into the bay at roughly midday-ish... got 2 pics on my phone but the zoom isn't great so you can only just about make out the submarine shape...
                Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
                Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
                Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
                Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
