With acknowledgement of the Irish contribution.
Is that you throwing out some more anti israeli stuff like you were doing at the weekend on the politics site?

I agree - but the database is excellent - the biographies are extensive and interesting.

          • Even soldiers in the Lebanon's Camp Shamrock managed a brief break to watch the nail-biting action, as Katie took on tough Russian fighter Sofya Ochigava.

And Irish troops based in Camp Shamrock, South Lebanon, cheered and clapped as Katie raised her arms in victory.

            • Pic of the Day: Irish troops stand to attention for Katie Taylor

Irish people from far and wide stopped what they were doing to watch Katie win gold yesterday, even the troops serving with the 106th Infantry Batallion in the Lebanon.

A group of more than 300 Irish soldiers departed Ireland back in May to join forces with Finnish troops as part of a United Nations Interim Force, taking the place of other Irish personnel who had been stationed in the country since the previous November.

While the troops have more important matters at hand in the Middle East, it’s nice to be kept abreast of what’s going on at home and they weren’t going to miss out on a day that surely ranks as one the best ever days in Irish sport along with the likes of Italia ’90, the Grand Slam in 2009 and the occasions that Ireland previously won gold medals in the Olympics.

They're certainly spoiled for choice with remote controls

The scenes in the picture above might not have replicated what went on in the Excel Arena or in Bray yesterday, but we’re sure the lads made quite a racket. Hopefully we’ll have a couple more medals for them to enjoy before the weekend’s out.

Just noticed... the General did not return even the Bn OC's salute, wahatever about throwing salutes to 200 odd troops coming off the plane...

                • The council expresses 'deep concern' at violations of the 2006 resolution that ended the war between Israel and Hezbollah; the resolution also warns against attempts to threaten the stability of Lebanon amid escalating conflict in Syria.

The resolution adopted Thursday by the council extends the force's mandate until August 31, 2013.

The resolution also warned against attempts to threaten the security and stability of Lebanon amid outbursts of violence and escalating tensions in the country fueled by the 17-month conflict in neighboring Syria.

They paid good money for that tune. They are gonna get good value.

I still prefer ELP though. Before that I think it was "O'Donnell Abu".

The blue line is the sterile zone between the Border.. Tibnin, as the crow flies is about approx 7 miles from the border. IIRC, The ICA or Israeli Controlled Area was about 6 miles in width..
