  • UN Blue and White Vehicles

Why are troops Helmets/Body armour/Berets blue when peacekeeping while the vehicles are painted white??
Is there a reason or is it just cheaper to paint them white?
Everyone who's ever loved you was wrong.

Presuming the white comes from it being associated with "peace"
Don't know where the UN blue originated from....
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

IS the blue not from the actual blue in the UN. The UN colour is blue or at least they seem to like it alot.

reason vehicles are white is to avoid confusion. In some cases blue (if vehicles were blue) can actually blen in with surrounding terrain so they use white to avoid all confusion and stand out!!

          Hi there
To make life easier for Israeli tank gunners. After all, they're not the best-trained, most proficient gunners firing state-of-the-art guns with first-class sighting systems for nothing, you know.If they're not firing at Lebanese Army / Hizbollah /Fatah, they need a nice simple target to keep their hand in.Hence the firing of DU rounds at nice, soft UN jeeps and static targets such as outposts.Makes sense...
