COD6 governs the rules of engagement when acting in ATCP or security escort type situations. And anyway it is a directive not a piece of legislation so it can be changed at the discretion of the Chief of Staff.

But dosnt it go out the window when the country is in a state of war?

COD's are only used in aid to the civil power ops. All out war would be all out war. In that event all COD docs would be void.

It doesn't go out the window, a state of war and ATCP are two different situations.

Well They Cover the Law of the Land, In a wartime situation it would be very Different. Guards and all duties are covered by COD6 but in a War situation it would be Very Different.

The COD6 document governs the use of force & can in operational/wartime situations be used as a guide.I don't think any more discussion about this document is relevant/advisable!!

Right, this question has been answered. The document in question is restricted, so in order to avoid any further complications this thread is closed.
