  • UK Defence Vehicle Display

    the UK DVD 2010 will be held on 23 and 24 June at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, it is organised by DE&S, which is the part of the MOD responsible for equipping and supporting the UK's armed forces for current and future operations.

    Last year's hugely successful event attracted authorised visitors from across the defence community, with over 320 small, medium and large companies displaying equipment, systems and services including protected mobility and general support vehicles, tented accommodation, clothing, medical supplies, fuel and test equipment.

    This year sees Land Equipment’s Individual Capability Group (ICG) making DVD its stakeholder event with a particular emphasis on the creation of the Integrated Soldier System Executive (ISSE) Team which is responsible for developing the Soldier System Architecture for the 2020 vision of the soldier.

    this is an official UK Minsitry of Defence event which showcases the latest vehicles, weaponry and equipment currently in use by the British Army, as well as other systems in development.

          Ah Pimms
          Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
          Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
          The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
          The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
          The best lack all conviction, while the worst
          Are full of passionate intensity.

              Looks like a very interesting event !!

              Now regarding the resident troll, you will easily spot him; this is the latest picture of him:

              "On the plains of hesitation, bleach the bones of countless millions, who on the very dawn of victory, laid down to rest, and in resting died.

              Never give up!!"

                      Which one? The Merc or RGJ's buddy?
                      "Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.
