  • South Korean K9 Thunder

Read an article in the Sunday Times that said that after North Korea shelled Yeonpyeong Island the South Koreans retaliated by firing their K9 Thunder 155mm Self Propelled guns. Of the 6 that they had on the Island 2 suffered software issues and were unable to fire and another suffered a jam.
There was a problem in locating the North Korean Artillery and it took more than 10 minutes for the 3 working SPG to return fire.

Software issues? Whatever happened to manual laying and tables? They must have every potential target on the NK side already registered!

K9 thunder sounds like a dodgey tv film about a police dog.....

On a serious note. were the Arty guns on standby when the NK started putting rounds down? this might explain why they were slow,

And if 3/6 decide not to work, I thinks they should maybe look into something simpler, or beat the lads maintaining them....
        But there's no danger
        It's a professional career
        Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.
