Less than a week after the Passing of W/O Fred Cullen, his neighbour CPO Willie "Hodgie" Hodnett crossed the bar for the last time yesterday after a long illness.
After retiring from the Naval Service, Willie served as Bosun on the CIT Nautical Studies Department Training vessel "Cill Airne" up to the move of the Nautical department to NMCI. He was a fantastic mentor to all of us who chose to go to sea. Everything I know about seamanship I learnt from this man.

Removal from Wallaces Funeral Home Midleton on Monday at 8pm. Funeral after 2pm Mass on Tuesday in the Church of the Holy Rosary Midleton to adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of William (Willie) HODNETT of Michael Collins Square, Midleton, Cork
Late of Skibbereen, Co. Cork. Peacefully. Reposing in T Wallis and Sons Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton from 6.30pm this Monday evening followed by removal at 8pm to the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Midleton. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Tuesday, at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
