  • Commissioning Ceremonies for the new Naval Service vessel L.É. Samuel Beckett.

On Saturday the 16th of May at Sir John Rodgerson's Quay, Dublin, The Taoiseach and Minister for Defence, Mr. Enda Kenny, T.D., will host the naming and Commissioning Ceremonies for the new Naval Service vessel L.É. Samuel Beckett.
This ceremony will take place at 10 am on the South side of the Liffey, near the East Link Bridge. It is open to members of the public, who will be given the opportunity to get an exclusive look at the new vessel. To ensure a good view we ask people to be there early and to be mindful of safety near the Quay walls and to traffic. Ms. Caroline Murphy, niece of the Nobel Prize winning writer and former Saoi of Aosdána Mr. Samuel Beckett (RIP), will perform the naming ceremony. The Taoiseach will then present the Commissioning Warrant to the ship’s Captain, Commander Ken Minehane.' - See more at: http://www.military.ie/en/press-offi....CaSbB4KD.dpuf
